Catastrophic Risk Management: Managing Efficiency, 2009

Day organized by Management Education and Research Institute (MERI) and EM Normandie.
12 January 2009, New Dehli, India.

The challenge of understanding the current complex environment. Examining recent catastrophies, from terrorist attacks to industrial accidents, tsunamis and hurricanes, pandemics and earthquakes, chemical spills and cyber-attacks – it is clear that a new world order is required. This event focused upon the need to systematically review and improve skills to evaluate, plan and respond to catastrophic events.

At the beginning of 2009 the Management Education & Research Institute (MERI) and EM Normandie organized an international conference which invited researchers and practitioners to consider these themes. This successful event led to the publication in the autumn of 2009 if a special edition of the Revue Management et Avenir, coordinated principally by Camille de Bovis, author of an article, together with Patrick Joffre, Olivier Germain and Ludovic Jeanne.
