EM Normandie will launch its Public Speaking Contest, the first edition of this speech contest in English on Monday 13 and Tuesday March 14 March 2017, on the Caen Campus. 15 students who will have been coached by the School's English Faculty, will embark on an 8 to 10-minute speech on the following theme: ‘Today's World'. The jury will assess both their speech technique – organisation and strong points in the presentation, arguments, style and pronunciation--, and their proficiency in the Great Will's native language. The audience will be invited to vote as well, and their votes will bring additional points to the candidates' marks. The best three speakers in each evening will then meet for a final battle on Tuesday 21 March at 6pm. The winner will be awarded a week-end to London as a prize.
Public Speaking in a Business School: a pronounced asset!
This contest is both an enjoyable game and a pedagogical exercise that allows students to acquire true competencies during their studies for their future professional careers. Their ability to convince and attract their audience's attention are for instance critical strong points to make a success of a presentation or a recruitment interview.
