Esther Atin, who joined the EM Normandie Grande Ecole Programme last September, was among the 150 winners of the 2016-2017 Lumières des Cités prize. 577 candidates from 88 Normandy public institutions had sent in their applications via their schools. The 150 winners will benefit from a € 600 grant and support from a mentor throughout their first year in Higher Education.
This new cohort does set the Lumières des Cités operation for good in the educational scene in Normandy, a clear evidence of the determination to engage in a fight against all discriminations and to act in favour of equal opportunity for all, from the part of the Direction Régionale et Départementale de la Jeunesse, des Sports et de la Cohésion Sociale Normandie (DRDJSCS Normandie), the Région Normandie, the Académie de Rouen & Caen rectorates, the CRIJ Normandie Rouen, the CRIJ-Normandie Caen, and their partner companies.
EM Normandie : a business school engaged in promoting equal opportunity for all
Together with Envie de Réussir ses Etudes Supérieures in Le Havre and Cap vers le Sup in Caen, accredited by «Cordées de la réussite», EM Normandie has engaged since 2006 alongside these regional actors in helping secondary school pupils in the Le Havre and Caen metropolis to develop their ambition and encourage them to take up Higher Education studies. This year a total of 32 student volunteers are coaching some 230 juniors under this scheme.
