Lodging in Deauville

Document sans nom

To make your arrival in Deauville easier, we have relationships with some owners proposing different kind of accommodations (studios, apartments, houses for co-location) available for rent from early September to end May. Once your application has been accepted by our School, we will put at your disposal a list so you can contact the owners and make the necessary arrangements. If you shall need assistance, please contact us. Please be aware that housing is allotted on a first-come first-served basis, so better to start the process along with your application for admission to the program!

Here are further tips (be aware that you should find your accommodation by JUNE for September)

Apartment Insurance

When renting an accommodation, you must provide the owners with a proof of insurance. Our school has established a partnership with the bank LCL Deauville which offers very attractive conditions on housing insurance (€1) in relation with the opening of a bank account, warmly advised so you can operate the payment of your bills while staying in France! An appointment with the representatives of the LCL Bank will be organised at the beginning of the academic year so you can make the necessary arrangements. If you shall need assistance, our staff but also your class mates can help.

Electricity

Electricity is provided by EDF, the French National Electric Company. Some owners already have set up an account and will invoice you for your monthly consumption directly on your rent invoice, some include your hook-up charge as a rental premium. Attention! If no account is set up, you will have to organise it and pay extra fees plus your consumption (quarterly invoices). So please ask the owner prior to sign a lease. You must remember to close your EDF account and make arrangements to pay your final bill before you leave France.

Internet / Mobile

Most of the proposed accommodation may have the necessary phone installation but none active account as the flats are not occupied. So upon your arrival, you may have to open an internet/mobile/phone/TV* account with a French provider. This is under your responsibility to search for the appropriate provider for your internet/mobile/phone/TV need. If you shall need assistance, our staff but also your class mates can help.

*conditions and monthly fees depending on your needs!

CAF Grant - Student Housing Allowance

You might get a student housing allowance (or "CAF grant") from the French government which will help offset the rent starting the month after your arrival (if you arrive in September, your allowance will be counted from October)*. [*For non-Europeans, the CAF allowance begins in the month following the validity of your residence permit. It is therefore essential to file the permit paperwork ASAP]. The CAF allowance is around 100/150 € per month.

Bank Account

You must have a French bank account to benefit from the CAF housing allowance. To better serve our international students, the school has a partnership with bank LCL Deauville which has a worldwide banking network and simplified banking process for our international students.

An appointment with the representatives of the LCL Bank will be organised at the beginning of the academic year so you can make the necessary arrangements. If you shall need assistance, our staff but also your class mates can help.
