In recognition of the increasing importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in organizations of all kinds, particularly in times of economic turbulence and slowdown, the 2011 International Conference in Entrepreneurship and SMEs will bring together state¬of¬the art research in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship and SMEs.
The conference aims to offer access to research undertaken by those who seek to generate insights to processes of entrepreneurship and innovation in public, private and third sector organizations, and SMEs in particular. The focus is on sustainable development of entrepreneurial organizations and the conference will offer an opportunity to find answers to critical management questions and challenges that are faced in building and sustaining such organizations. The conference will have a strong blend of academic, policy maker and practitioner delegates from across the world. It will include streams and papers on a range of topics pertaining to entrepreneurship, innovation and SMEs. Some of the topics include :

The conference will be hosted by the EM Normandie, which offers an attractive conference site in Caen. The Ecole de Management de Normandie is one of the most important business school in France, having three campuses in Caen, Le Havre and Deauville. Entrepreneurship is one of the primary topics of the research at the school. A young team of scholars is studying family business, entrepreneurial teams, entrepreneurial finance, venture creation and others topics in relation with entrepreneurship and SMEs. The conference is organised as a part of an EU¬funded project with the School of Management, University of Southampton.

- The INBS project was selected under the European Cross-border Cooperation Programme INTERREG IV A France (Channel) – England, co-funded by the ERDF.
For three years, the Interreg Network Business Schools project aims to develop deep and lasting links between the Ecole de Management de Normandie and the School of Management of the University of Southampton. Study programmes (exchanges between teachers, short term student mobility, development of joint programmes), research activities and the organization of annual cross-Channel conferences will represent the main aims of the INBS project. The themes to be dealt with will be varied: entrepreneurship, project management, corporate social responsibility, maritime and port management, intercultural management, innovation…. - Le projet INBS a été sélectionné dans le cadre du programme européen de coopération transfrontalière INTERREG IV A France (Manche) – Angleterre, cofinancé par le FEDER.
Durant trois ans, le projet « Interreg Network Business Schools » vise à développer des liens durables et approfondis entre l’Ecole de Management de Normandie et la Management School de l’Université of Southampton. Des programmes d'études (échanges d’enseignants, mobilité étudiante courte, élaboration de cursus conjoints), des projets de recherche et l’organisation de colloques conjoints transmanche représenteront les principales activités du projet INBS. Les thématiques abordées seront variées : entreprenariat, management de projet, responsabilité sociale de l’entreprise, management maritime et portuaire, management interculturel, innovation…
