EM Normandie's Institut Portuaire d'Enseignement et de Recherche (IPER) and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Maritime have entered into a formal partnership to develop jointly Maritime & Port Continuing Education programmes, both in France and abroad.
ENSM capitalises on the unparalleled, and century-old, expertise of French National Merchant Navy Schools, now turned into Engineering Schools, in the field of maritime training.
IPER is a privileged partner of the International Maritime Organisation, and possesses an extensive network of clients in France and overseas in the field of Maritime & Port Continuing Education programmes.
Their partnership is intended to capitalize on this complementarity to allow both institutions to develop together new top-level Continuing Education programmes, targeting international professional clients.
‘Such a partnership is a perfect illustration of what can be achieved by Higher Education Institutions to support professionals coping with the evolution in their occupations, and thus to contribute to the dynamism of the Territory‘, states EM Normandie's Director General, Jean-Guy Bernard.
As for, Patrice Laporte, ENSM's Director General, he looks forward to this ‘promising closer relationship between ‘Hydro' and the various partners on the Le Havre University Campus that he wishes to extend.'
New programmes soon to be launched
Three Continuing Education qualifying programmes are scheduled for 2018: ‘The Commercial Side of a Vessel's Call', and two additional programmes, ‘The Commercial Side of a Vessel's Call – Focus on Legal Issues', and ‘The Commercial Side of a Vessel's Call – Focus on Operational Issues'. Spreading over 3 days, these programmes are aimed at all professionals who engage in port activities in one way or another, and who wish to acquire or extend, their organisational, legal and operational knowledge of the Commercial Side of a Vessel's Call.
