Cap vers le Sud, an EM Normandie student society, organised from 29 April to 1st May a trip to Nantes for 15 Eleventh Graders, Juniors and Seniors from Lycées Maurois in Deauville, Salvador Allende in Hérouville Saint-Clair and Laplace in Caen. For them, this School Trip was the final event after a full year in the Cordées de la Réussite Scheme, designed to encourage them to take High Education studies later on.
This is the 5th year in Caen that thirty pupils benefitted from this scheme sponsored by CGET and Académie de Caen. Every week, the 7 Cap vers le Sup student volunteers organised tutorials and workshops on speaking and interpersonal skills, drafting a CV, preparing for motivation interviews, or discovering occupations and Higher Education studies. Participants also took part in pedagogical, sports, and cultural trips and attended talks. During the trip, which was their very first for some of them, both pupils and students discovered the famous Nantes Island Machines and the Castle, attended a play (Thé à la Menthe ou t'es Citron), visited Guérande and its salt pans, as well as the Croisic Harbour.
