Foundation of ESC Le Havre


Creation of IPER , Institut Portuaire d'Enseig nement et de Recherche du Havre, by the Le Havre Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Grand Port Maritime du Havre , and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris).


Foundation of Groupe ESC Normandie (ESC LE Havre, IPER and a new international program in Caen) jointly by the Le Havre and Caen Chambers of Commerce & Industry.


Creation of SUP EUROPE C.E.S.E.C. . Originally a 3-year bi-national (UK & Fr) program in Caen, it was later extended to 4 years, recruiting as a first degree.


ESC Le Havre was admitted to the Chapter of Management Schools of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (CGE)


ESC Le Havre joins the PASSERELLE ESC National Admissions Test Bank.


The HEC Entrepreneurs teaching model was applied to the entire Grande Ecole ESC Le Havre program. Supervised by Dr Robert Papin, Director of HEC Entrepreneurs, a partnership agreement was signed with the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Group HEC Paris.


Creation of the Polytechnicum de Normandie by the Caen and Le Havre Chambers of Commerce, and included six partners: ESC Le Havre, IPER, SUP EUROPE C.E.S.E.C., IAE, IUP Banque Assurance and UFR d'Economie et de Gestion of Université de Caen Basse-Normandie. This was to be a joint development partnership for the benefit of its component institutions: e-learning platform, customized continuing education, etc.


Groupe ESC Normandie became Ecole de Management de Normandie with a new legal structure of its own.

The ESC Le Havre (5 year degree, 'Visé' by the State) is awarded the Grade de Master by the Ministry of National Education.


An affiliate campus was opened in Deauville. The facilities, located in the Deauville International Conference Center (CID, hosted the MSc Tourism and Leisure Management, created in partnership with Uniervsity of Brighton (UK), and later in 2006 the MSc International Events Management.

In parallel, the School created Métis, a research laboratory focused on 4 axes, Entrepreneurship & SMEs; Maritime and Port Management; Cross-cultural Interaction Management; and Temporalities-Project Management-Organization-Strategy (TemPOS).


The Grande Ecole's Program was created by merging two of the main pre-experience programs. (ESC Le Havre and SUP EUROPE CESEC). The program leads to a 5-year Grade de Master degree It is unique on the French educational scene as it can be accessed at 3 entry levels: post bac (SESAME), post classes préparatoires (BCE) and Bac+2 to Bac+4 (PASSERELLE 1 et 2) for holders of 2 to 4 year first degrees.

The School also started offering an Executive MBA Manager by Project (created in 2005 jointly with Polytechnicum de Normandie).


Previously a division of the Le Havre and Caen Chambers of Commerce, Ecole de Management de Normandie was transformed into a non-profit association under the French 1901 Act, with autonomous governance, a Board of Trustees and a Strategic Orientation Council.


Creation of the Réseau EM Normandie, an association that welcomes both the graduates and all students in EMN Normandie Programs.

September 2008: French state post-bac 5-year level 'Visa' for the EM Normandie Grande Ecole's Program granted for 6 years and accreditation for 'grade de Master' for another 3 years. The School adopted a new identity and the 'EM Normandie' brand.

The Bachelor en Marketing et Affaires Internationales is opened on the Le Havre Campus. 'Visé' by the French state, and accessed via the ATOUT+3 National Admissions Test Bank


EM Normandie launched its 2009-2012 Strategic Plan. New facilities inaugurated in Deauville, hosting the newly created MS Management des compétences et gestion des ressources humaines. Creation of the EM Normandie Corporate Partners Club (Club des partenaires de l'EM Normandie). A membership of 26 companies which are the most engaged in the School's development.


EM Normandie joined the Union des Grandes Ecoles Indépendantes (UGEI) as an Associate Member.

Three new programs were opened : MBA Maritime, Transport et Logistique (Le Havre Campus), MSc International Logistics and Crisis Management (Le Havre Campus), MS Marketing, communication et ingénierie des produits agroalimentaires, in partnership with Esitpa, Agricultural Engineering School (Esitpa Campus in Mont-Saint-Aignan).


EM Normandie celebrated its 140th anniversary . The School was a pioneer in joining the Cordées de l'entrepreneuriat social solidarity scheme. This is a social scheme to encourage start-ups in depressed urban areas that was launched on a national level by the Commissioner for iversity and Equal Opportunity.

E-learning continuing education: launching of the EM Normandie Grande Ecole's Program, on a totally distance learning model, a novelty in Europe for a degree awarding program at that level.

Grande Ecole's Program: Grade de Master accreditation renewed for 4 years as from Sept 1st 2001, and EPAS accreditation gained for 3 years as from Septembebr 15th 2011.

Postgraduate Program 3ème cycle Manager des Systèmes d'information opened in Deauville in partnership with Grenoble Ecole de Management's EMSI.


EM Normandie's Bachelor en Marketing et Affaires Internationales became the Bachelor en Management International, accredited at Bac + 3 level for 4 years as from September 1st 2012. Foundation of the lInstitut du Développement Territorial (IDéT), a center for training, resources and expertise, specializing in territorial strategies and public policies, sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, economic and strategic intelligence.

EM Normandie, ENSICAEN and Université de Caen Basse-Normandie created the Campus Intelligence Economique de Basse-Normandie

Foundation of the EM Normandie Incubateur étudiant , in partnership with Synergia (Economic Development Agency for Caen-La Mer).

The EM Normandie Grande Ecole's Program authorized to be taken in one year on a continuing education basis (on campus or by e-learning) – Ministry Authorization granted on 23 July 2012. 1st September 2012: EM Normandie became full-rights member of Union des Grandes Ecoles Indépendantes (UGEI)


Creation of the Chair in Entrepreneurship Project Innovation in partnership with CERFRANCE, the N°1 Consultants & Chartered Accountants Association in France

EM Normandie evaluated its impact on its economic environment with the BSIS Scheme (Business School Impact Survey) created by FNEGE

Opening of a new campus in Paris, jointly with Grenoble Ecole de Management
Launching of LaSmartEcole ©: a new innovative and connected teaching approach introduced in the Grande Ecole Programme. 500 digital tablets given to in-coming students.

Creation of the Observatory of Tomorrow's Pedagogy and Occupations, chaired by Emeritus Professor Dominique Roux from Paris Dauphine University and President of Bolloré Telecom. This observatory will identify and decode evolutions in occupations and managerial functions, and investigate their implication in terms of contents, methods, and teaching schedules in training programmes.
